Two Great Sport Events with the Team

I am Ilke Diels, and I have been working as a Life Sciences Consultant at Trevalco for three years now. I started with a background in Biomedical Sciences, full of enthusiasm to do something meaningful. But honestly, back then, I didn’t fully grasp what consultancy would actually mean for me.
My first project was as a Project Engineer in Cleaning Validation. It was an immediate deep dive into the technical side of the pharmaceutical world. I remember often thinking in the beginning: “Help, how am I ever going to understand all of this?” But gradually, it started to click. I actually enjoyed diving into the details, puzzling things out, and understanding why something worked—or didn’t. It gave me a sense of reassurance: “Okay, I’ve got this, I can do this.”
Then came my project in Clinical Supply, which was completely different. Much more operational, much more about adapting on the fly, with many unexpected things suddenly becoming urgent. I sometimes found it really challenging to balance regulations, tight deadlines, and the reality that real patients and clinical studies were waiting for the product. But that’s exactly what made it so valuable. It no longer felt like I was “just doing a task,” but rather that I was part of something bigger that truly makes an impact.
My third project took me in yet another direction: following the registration process of a new product. This was the first time I really felt: “Okay, I have full responsibility here and get to make decisions independently.” It was exciting, sometimes frustrating, sometimes a lot of fun—but above all, I grew from it. I learned how to keep a project on track, how to communicate effectively, and how to push things forward. And I realized that Trevalco truly trusts me, even as a junior.
Now, I’m about to start a new project in Clean Room Commissioning, which again feels like a fresh start, a new challenge. I’m really looking forward to it, but I also know it will be another phase where I’ll have to learn a lot. And honestly? I actually like that feeling. It means I’m moving forward.
Looking back on the past three years, I feel mostly proud. Not because everything went perfectly (far from it), but because I can see how much I’ve grown. How I now dare to do things I would never have considered three years ago. How I’ve found my place in a sector that revolves around something truly important: patient safety.
