At Trevalco, sustainability is not just a goal—it’s an integral part of how we operate. Over the past five (5) years, we have taken significant steps to reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, particularly in Scope 1 and Scope 2, which cover direct emissions from company vehicles and indirect emissions from purchased energy.

A 60% Reduction in Emissions: A Major Milestone

By implementing targeted initiatives such as fleet electrification, hybrid working policies, and promoting sustainable commuting, we have successfully reduced our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 60% compared to the 2018-2020 reference years.

How We Achieved This

Several strategic changes contributed to this achievement:

Electrifying our fleet – 50% of our company vehicles are now fully electric, significantly cutting fuel consumption and emissions.
Mobility budget incentives – Employees can opt for sustainable mobility solutions instead of traditional company cars.
Encouraging bike commuting – Making cycling a viable option for employees has helped reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
Hybrid working – Reducing unnecessary travel has minimized fuel consumption.

Staying on Track for 80% by 2030

Our next goal is clear: an 80% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions per invoiced hour by 2030. With a strong downward trend already in place, we are confident that this is well within reach. Key next steps include:

🔹 Transitioning to a fully electric fleet – From 2025 onward, all new company cars are fully electric, ensuring that by 2030, less than 10% of our fleet consists of combustion engine vehicles.
🔹 Annual emissions reporting – We have committed to publishing our emissions data yearly to ensure transparency and track our progress.
🔹 Addressing Scope 3 emissions – By the end of 2025, we will conduct a thorough evaluation of our indirect (Scope 3) emissions, identifying key contributors and outlining reduction strategies.

Commitment to Sustainability

These initiatives reflect our broader commitment to sustainability—not only for regulatory compliance but because we believe it is the right thing to do. Reducing our carbon footprint remains a top priority, and we are proud to be setting an example in the life sciences consultancy sector.
